WELCOME - 04 AUGUST 2018
Warm welcome to the JVWR blog where we share our experience and thoughts while establishing the first Women's community radio at the Jordan Valley.
On 4.8.18, with the generous support and welcome of Haj Sami Sadeq, the mayor of Al Aqaba, we gathered and worked together with 14 brilliant participants from the village, inviting them to join the project. They accepted the invitation to continue and dive into the adventure.
We worked together for a few hours, getting to know each other via some particular activities the four of us, Samia, Reut, Dina and Meira, brought.
Starting on 1.9.2018, we will shape together the station and its' activity. The participants will learn a wide variety of skills, content and technical, in purpose to run the station independently.
We discovered women (from age 15 and above) who are very enthusiastic to share their desire to communicate and experiment. Writers, educators, experienced women, some of which are part of the women's society of Al Aqaba.
